Safaricom Users Wake Up to Good News as Safaricom Releases USSD Code for Higher Fuliza Limit

Safaricom has explained how M-Pesa customers can ask for a review of their Fuliza overdraft limit, using a short USSD process.

Customers should dial *334#, select option 00 and choose “Refresh My Limit.”

The telco cautioned that borrowers should not expect an automatic increase after following the steps.

It added that limit reviews are carried out by its banking partners and cannot be processed through a website or any self-service platform.

According to Safaricom, the limit depends on a customer’s usage and the bank’s assessment.

The banks consider M-Pesa activity, CRB status and the repayment history of previous loans, including Okoa Jahazi.

The company also encouraged customers to repay on time and use the service often.

“Kumbuka, paying on time and using it often ndio limit yako itazidi,” it said, meaning that doing so is what will push the limit up.

The explanation followed a post the company made on July 2, 2026, captioned “Mnaona aje guys?”, which hinted that limits could rise.

More than 2,200 customers responded, with many hoping their limits would finally go up after years of using M-Pesa.

Fuliza is a continuous overdraft service that lets customers complete transactions even when their M-Pesa balance is insufficient.

To use it, a customer must be registered on M-Pesa, hold an active Safaricom M-Pesa line and opt in to the service.

Safaricom said customers registered with a military ID, Kenyan passport or national ID can activate Fuliza.
