Phony Vegas showgirls attack pair of tourists on iconic Strip over $20 tip
Two phony Vegas showgirls attacked a pair of tourists over a $20 tip – demanding they instead pay upwards of $180 – sparking a larger brawl as they hounded people along the famed Strip.
Jennifer Ortiz and Magdellena Romero are accused of attacking two North Carolina tourists outside the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on Sept. 30.
The brawl erupted after the victims approached the trio of imitating showgirls for a photo and tipped them $20 before walking off.
Ortiz demanded they pay between $60 and $180 and allegedly followed the two tourists down the concourse before launching the assault, according to video obtained by TMZ.
The scantily clad imposters, donning the showgirls’ iconic feathery headdresses, hurled multiple punches at their victims in front of dozens of stunned onlookers during the daylight attack along Las Vegas Boulevard.
The female victim had tried to stop the attack but was tackled by Romero, pulled by the hair and punched in the face and head.
One of the victims, who had lost his shirt, charged into the two women to get off his partner, leading to them attacking him multiple times, including with a high-heeled boot.
Ortiz, who was identified as the shoe-slinging suspect, whacked at her victim with the footwear, striking him in the forehead and leaving a 2-inch cut, Fox 5 Vegas reported, citing a police report.
The male victim was struck 22 times, police alleged.
As security separated the brawl, Ortiz launched a profanity-laced tirade in front of other tourists, according to the video.
The third showgirl was not charged after she claimed she only tried to break the fight up.
The two suspects claimed to police that the tourists had initiated the fight and Romero only stepped in to help her co-worker.
The feathery vagrants were arrested and charged with battery.
Ortiz is also accused of fraud after another tourist agreed to tip her $60 but was instead charged $218 after tapping his debit card to the showgirl’s phone.
The unidentified third tourist confronted Ortiz about the charge and was given a fake phone number instead, he told police.
Ortiz faces an obtaining money by false pretense charge, according to the outlet and court records.
The troublesome street performer was already in hot water for a similar incident in March 2026, when she was ordered to stay out of trouble, Fox 5 reported.
Both Ortiz and Romero were booked into Clark County Detention Center and are scheduled to appear in court in December.
