“Only Fools Don’t Change Their Mind, You Have A Problem With Government” MP Jared Okello To Nyoro

Nyando MP Jared Okello has taken a swipe at Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, urging him to respect parliamentary authority and adapt to changing political circumstances.

Speaking in the National Assembly, Okello said lawmakers should maintain respect and discipline even when debates become heated.

He praised Speaker Moses Wetang’ula for remaining calm while managing disagreements in the House, saying members should also respect the authority of the Chair.

“Dignity begets dignity,” Okello said, urging MPs not to turn parliamentary debates into personal confrontations.

Okello then addressed Nyoro directly, telling him that political positions can change and leaders should be willing to reconsider their views when circumstances change.

“Only fools don’t change their mind,” he said.

The Nyando MP also cautioned politicians against relying too heavily on regional politics when pursuing national leadership ambitions.

His remarks came amid heated exchanges in Parliament, as lawmakers debated issues involving the conduct of members and the authority of the Speaker.

Okello called on younger MPs to respect parliamentary rules, remain open to changing political realities and focus on issues affecting Kenyans.
