NAF Aircraft Crash: Aneke Visits Site Amid Investigation

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, on Thursday visited Igbokoda, Ondo State, as search and recovery operations continued at the site of the Nigerian Air Force ATR 42 (NAF 931) aircraft crash.

Aneke, who led senior NAF officials to the site, expressed condolences to the families of the personnel and passengers who died in the crash.

He said the Air Force would conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and urged the public to avoid speculation about its cause.

The CAS said, “All relevant evidence will be secured, documented, preserved and examined as part of a thorough and professional investigation.”

The head of the investigation and recovery team, Air Vice Marshal EOE Ebiowe, said the recovery operation was progressing in collaboration with relevant aviation, security and emergency response agencies.

Ebiowe said the crash site had been secured, while recovered items and other evidence were being documented and preserved.

He said the recovery operation would continue alongside the investigation and support for the affected families.
