Lagos CP Fatai Condoles Nigerian Air Force Over Igbokoda Aircraft Crash
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, has paid a condolence visit to the Sam Ethnan Air Force Base, Lagos, following the death of Nigerian Air Force personnel and passengers in the crash of an NAF 931 aircraft at Igbokoda, Ondo State.
The visit was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday, October 8, 2026, by the Lagos State Police Commandâs Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abibola Adebisi.
During the visit, Fatai commiserated with the Commander, 651 Base, Air Commodore M. A. Imam, over the tragic incident and conveyed the commandâs sympathy to the Nigerian Air Force and the families of those who lost their lives.
The police commissioner expressed condolences to the bereaved families, colleagues and the wider Nigerian Air Force community, while praying for strength and comfort for them during the period of mourning.
Fatai also reaffirmed the Lagos State Police Commandâs solidarity with the Nigerian Air Force and other sister security agencies, stressing the importance of sustained inter-agency cooperation and mutual support, particularly during periods of national tragedy.
The visit, the command said, was a demonstration of solidarity and shared grief with the Nigerian Air Force at a time of profound loss.
