Kasoa Ritual Murder: See What 18-Year-Old Told A Man In Court After Being Jailed For Life in Prison

The High Court has handed down a life sentence to 18-year-old Nicholas Kini over the ritual killing of 10-year-old Ishmael Mensah Abdellah in Kasoa, according to a report by GHOne TV. The verdict has generated strong public interest and sparked fresh discussion about the involvement of teenagers in violent and serious criminal activities.

Following the court’s decision, Kini was reportedly heard speaking in Twi as he was taken away from the courtroom. He expressed his anger and frustration, saying, “Bossu, I will return… There is no truth in Ghana.” In response, a correctional officer reportedly urged him to stay calm, be patient and trust in God.

The court convicted both accused persons for their roles in the case. Kini was sentenced to life imprisonment, while his 15-year-old accomplice will face sentencing through a juvenile court because of his age.

For Ishmael’s relatives, the judgment represents an important step toward justice. Although nothing can erase the loss of the 10-year-old, members of the family said they are relieved that the legal process has produced an outcome they believe holds those responsible accountable.

The case has deeply shocked the Ghanaian public, with particular concern surrounding the fact that the accused were themselves teenagers. The proceedings brought attention to the importance of accountability while also raising questions about how young people can become involved in such serious offences.

The verdict has also intensified calls for stronger youth-focused interventions across the country. Citizens have urged authorities, communities and families to invest more in education, mentorship and other preventive programmes that could help steer young people away from violent and criminal behaviour.

A member of Ishmael’s family said their primary objective throughout the case was to obtain justice for the young victim. With the court now delivering its verdict, the family believes accountability has been achieved, even as they continue to mourn their loss.
