I’ll promise you, any state Atiku wins, on my honour, You’ll be with me in the Villa—Titi Abubakar
According to a report by The Sun News on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, Amina Titi Abubakar, wife of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has urged members of the Atiku Circle Grassroots Movement in the South-East to increase their mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Amina made the call in Enugu during the inauguration of the South-East chapter of the political support organisation. She told members that their work should extend beyond major cities and reach communities, villages and other areas where political campaigns may have less visibility.
Addressing supporters at the event, she described the members of the movement as an important part of Atiku’s grassroots support structure. She urged them to speak directly with residents, explain Atiku’s political plans and encourage people at the community level to support his presidential ambition.
Amina specifically encouraged the supporters to visit markets, streets, villages and other communities across the region. She said political mobilisation should not be limited to state capitals or large urban centres because local communities also play an important role in determining electoral outcomes.
She also told members that their efforts would be recognised if Atiku succeeds in winning the 2027 presidential election. According to her, supporters who make meaningful contributions to his electoral success could have opportunities to participate in the administration.
Amina further said states where Atiku performs strongly would have a special place in her plans. She thanked those who contributed to establishing the organisation and encouraged members to remain committed as political activities increase ahead of the election.
Speaking during the inauguration, the South-East Coordinator of the Atiku Circle Grassroots Movement, Pastor Chidi Odoemelam, said the organisation was built around the belief that political mobilisation must begin at the grassroots.
Odoemelam argued that political support could not be developed through activities in state capitals and major cities alone. He encouraged support groups to establish stronger connections with people in local communities.
He also alleged that there had been efforts to stop the inauguration of the South-East chapter but said members remained determined to proceed because of their support for Atiku’s political ambition. He cited some of Atiku’s economic proposals, including his position on fuel subsidy, as reasons for the group’s support.
The South-East co-coordinator, Dr Theodore Odi, also expressed support for Atiku, describing him as a politician with relationships across ethnic and religious groups. Odi pointed to Atiku’s experience in government and economic proposals as reasons he believes the former vice president can address some of Nigeria’s challenges.
Meanwhile, former Enugu State ADC chairman Stella Chukwuma recalled Amina’s involvement in the establishment of the Women Trafficking and Child Labour Eradication Foundation, WOTCLEF. She said the organisation contributed to efforts that later supported the establishment of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, NAPTIP.
Chukwuma also urged the movement’s members to take their mobilisation efforts deeper into the South-East by reaching markets, streets, villages and other communities as preparations for the 2027 election continue.
