I Converted To Islam & I Began Seeing Angels In Mosque On Sundays So I Went Back To Church -Alebiosu

According to Yoruba actor Adewale Michael Alebiosu, he was born into a Muslim family but later became a Christian after what he described as an encounter with Jesus. He shared details about his religious journey during an interview with Talk-To-B on Biola Adebayo Entertainment, explaining that his decision to change his faith was influenced by personal experiences and events he found difficult to explain.

Alebiosu said his religious journey later took another turn when he stopped attending church after his mother became angry with him. According to the actor, he returned to Islam at his mother’s request and began attending the Nasfat mosque in Jankara, Agbado, Ijaye, where he was living at the time.

He said that while he was attending the mosque, he began experiencing what he described as unusual spiritual experiences. Alebiosu claimed that whenever he went to the mosque on Sundays, he would see what he believed were angels of God coming into and leaving the mosque.

The actor also said that on different occasions, people would approach him and tell him that he had failed to carry out something they believed God had instructed him to do. He said these experiences became difficult for him to ignore and eventually caused him to reconsider his decision to return to Islam.

Alebiosu explained that he initially believed returning to his family’s religious background would settle the matter, particularly because his mother had asked him to go back to Islam. However, he said the experiences he encountered after returning to the mosque left him with questions and visions that he felt he could not easily explain to other people.

Reflecting on that period of his life, Alebiosu said he eventually decided to return to Christianity. He described the decision as a personal response to the experiences he said he had while practicing Islam again.

His account highlights the personal nature of religious journeys, which can sometimes be shaped by family influence, personal convictions and experiences that individuals interpret according to their faith. In Alebiosu’s case, he said his movement between Islam and Christianity was influenced first by his family background, then by his mother’s request, and later by experiences that he interpreted as spiritual signs.

The actor’s comments were presented as his personal account of his religious journey and the experiences that influenced his eventual decision to return to Christianity.
