Grade-19 SSP ordered to repay Rs8.69m over incomplete PhD
Establishment Division has declared the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) leave of Grade19 Police Service of Pakistan officer Nadeem Hussain as extraordinary leave without pay and ordered recovery of Rs8.69 million, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
According to the Establishment Division notification, Nadeem Hussain was granted leave from September 1, 2019 to July 19, 2022 to obtain a PhD degree but failed to complete the assigned task.
The notification stated that Rs8,689,890 paid to the officer by the government during his PhD leave would remain an outstanding liability recoverable from him.
Nadeem Hussain has been directed to deposit the entire amount with the Government of Pakistan under account head C03824 recoveries of over payments and submit proof of payment within three months of the notification.
The notification stated that failure to deposit the amount within the stipulated period would render the notification null and void.
The Balochistan government has also been directed to ensure recovery of the amount from the officer within three months and inform the Establishment Division.
A note regarding the recovery has also been placed in the officer’s personal file.
