Ghanaians Left In Shòck As Police Drops New Update About The Well Being Of Nana Akua Addo’s Husband

According to a report by The BBC Ghana yesterday which was Wednesday, October 7, 2026, the Ghana Police Service has provided an update on the domestic abuse case involving Ghanaian fashion personality Rosemond Akua Adobea, widely known as Nana Akua, and her husband, Harold Norman.

In a statement, the Police confirmed that Nana Akua lodged a complaint against her husband on August 20, 2026. She reportedly accused him of subjecting her to physical, emotional and economic abuse.

Following the complaint, the Police said Harold Norman was arrested on August 27 as investigations into the allegations commenced. He was subsequently granted police enquiry bail and required to provide two sureties.

The case was expected to proceed to court on October 7, 2026, with Harold Norman scheduled to appear before the court. However, the Police said his lawyer notified them that he had been admitted to a hospital and could therefore not attend the proceedings as planned.

According to the Police, officers from the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) have visited the hospital to independently verify the information concerning his admission.

The Police further stated that arrangements would be made for Harold Norman to appear before the court after his discharge from the hospital, subject to his medical condition.

The statement also disclosed that the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) is working in collaboration with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection to provide support to Nana Akua and her children while the matter is being handled.

The case has generated widespread public interest, with various reports and reactions emerging on social media since news of the complaint became public.

The Police have indicated that the investigation remains ongoing and that the appropriate legal procedures will be followed.

While the allegations are serious, they remain allegations at this stage, and Harold Norman is entitled to due process. The court and relevant authorities will ultimately determine the facts of the case based on the evidence presented.

The Police are expected to provide further updates where necessary as the investigation and legal proceedings continue.
