At the core of Wamuchomba's frustration is Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, whom she accused of making remarks targeting the Kikuyu community without facing any legal or institutional consequence.

She contrasted Duale's situation with that of Mukurweini MP John Kaguchia, who was arrested, taken to court, and handed a verdict by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) over similar conduct.

The lawmaker added that Duale had dismissed her concerns on WhatsApp, saying "sorry sister, there is anything you know," and had publicly referred to her as "a small girl from Kiambu" at a press conference where he addressed her complaints about his community remarks.

Wamuchomba did not name any party or political alliance she intends to join following her exit. She said the announcement of her next move would come separately.

She acknowledged that working from within government had left her without a meaningful platform to be heard, and indicated she would in future align her voice with ordinary Kenyans critical of officials she believes show disrespect toward other communities.

Her departure from UDA is notable given that she had previously returned to the ruling party after distancing herself from former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua.
