Exclusive: Pastor Kakande’s chef Killed inside Temple Mount Church secretly Buried in Mayuge district

A former chef of Pastor Kakande was found dead inside his church in Kubiri in Kampala

Share on Twitter Kampala Metropolitan Police has launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of Jonah Moses Kakaire, a 28-year-old former chef at Pastor Samuel Kakande’s Temple Mount Church.

Temple Mount Church is located at Kubiri, Mulago in Kampala City.

Police’s investigation follows concerns raised by the deceased’s relatives over the circumstances under which he died.

This webiste has learnt that information about Kakaire’s death was received by Uganda Police on October 1, 2026, from his brother.

His body was subsequently transported by Rhino Funeral Services to his ancestral home in Waina, Mayuge District, where he was buried on October 4.

However, the deceased’s brother returned to Kampala on October 5, and asked Police to establish the circumstances surrounding his brother’s death.

A General Enquiry File was subsequently opened at Wandegeya Police Station to facilitate investigations into the matter.

Police recorded several statements from the deceased’s relatives, some church members and workers from Rhino Funeral Services.

Investigators have also retrieved and reviewed CCTV footage from the church, while Scene of Crime Officers processed the relevant scene as part of efforts to establish what happened.

Several individuals have been questioned as detectives continue piecing together the events leading to Kakaire’s death.

Preliminary findings indicate that Kakaire may have slipped and fallen into the lift pathway as the lift was moving upwards.

And the lift subsequently returned and struck his head.

The circumstances surrounding the incident, however, remain under investigation, and police has not made a final determination on the cause of death.

Shockingly, investigations indicate that Kakaire was taken to Mulago City Mortuary without a corresponding case being registered with police at the time.

Investigators are now seeking to establish the full sequence of events, including what happened immediately before and after the alleged fall, who was present and how the deceased was handled after the incident.

Investigation will include retrieving the postmortem report, identifying and interviewing additional witnesses, and submitting the inquiry file for legal advice.

Efforts to get a comment from Temple Mount Church were futile. All individuals we contacted who work for Pastor Kakande weren’t willing to speak to us.

More information will be provided as investigations progress.
