COMMENTSErling Haaland has called for Manchester City supporters to “stick together” after the club’s recent guilty verdict.

City were found guilty of all 115 of their financial breaches charges by an independent commission, and the Premier League outfit are currently looking to appeal the decision.

It was news that shook the football world during the international break, and potential punishments for them have become hot discourse amongst rival clubs, fans and pundits alike.

City actively deny all the charges, and have continued to plead their innocence despite the verdict.

Several players have broken their silence on the matter after being asked about it while on international duty, and star striker Haaland is now the next to do so.

Back in training: Erling HaalandPA“I think they are going to have a good time,” the Norwegian told Sky Sports.

“We need to stick together. We have to stay with each other and stay positive. No matter what happens in life we have to have a smile.

“We have to stay positive, look ahead and try to win football games, then try to enjoy the situation and the game. We have to stick together, we have to spread the love to each other, enjoy the ride and smile.”

On top of their guilty verdict, Enzo Marsesca’s side were also dealt a triple injury blow during the three-week international window, with Haaland a major concern.

The striker requested a substitution in Norway’s 2-1 defeat by Portugal earlier this week, and he was visibly limping as he made his way off the field.

It remains to be seen whether the forward is injured and what the extent of his problem is, while Antoine Semenyo withdrew from the Ghana squad with a swollen leg and Nico O’Reilly was forced to quit the England camp prematurely with an unknown niggle.
