Envoy Eunju hailed for cementing Tanzania-Korea’s diplomatic,economic ties
DAR ES SALAAM: THE Tanzanian government has commended the outgoing Korean Ambassador, Eunju Ahn, for her contribution to strengthening diplomatic relations and economic cooperation between the two countries, particularly in investment, infrastructure, technology, mining and human capital development.
Speaking at a farewell ceremony for Ambassador Ahn, Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office responsible for Policy, Parliament, Coordination and Persons with Disabilities, Professor Palamagamba Kabudi, who represented President Samia Suluhu Hassan, said Tanzania had witnessed significant progress in development cooperation, investment, mining, railway development and digital technology during her tenure.
Among the achievements attributed to Ambassador Ahn’s tenure was an increase in funding under the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF), as well as the holding of policy dialogues on two occasions aimed at accelerating the implementation of projects financed through the facility.

Tanzania also commended Ahn for her efforts to attract Korean investment into the cashew processing and mining sectors, including investments by Mirae Green and the participation of POSCO International in the Mahenge Graphite Project.
The government further highlighted Tanzania-Korea cooperation in critical and strategic minerals, as well as the approval of the Digital Training Institute (DTI) project, which seeks to strengthen skills in emerging technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), research and innovation.
