Bereaved families thank PM Shehbaz, govt for financial assistance

Families of Pakistani citizens killed in Somalia have received compensation cheques of Rs26 million each.

The cheques were distributed among the affected families by the Sindh Governor on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The cheques were handed over to the families of Mahmood Ansari, Syed Kashif Umar and Rafiullah Khan.

The families thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the government for the financial assistance.

Raufullah Khan’s brother said the government had stood by the family during a difficult time and thanked the authorities for their support.

It is pertinent to note that PM Shehbaz announced financial assistance for each family of the three Pakistanis killed during a recovery operation from a hijacked ship off Somalia.

It was also reported that the government will also provide one house to each bereaved family, while the children of the deceased will receive free education and healthcare.
