Afeni, FOU Zone A Ag. Controller Visits Iperu Complex, Inspects Ongoing Projects
Acting Controller Oladapo Olukayode Afeni of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Zone ‘A’, Lagos, on Wednesday, 7 October 2026, inspected the Unit’s newly commissioned ultra-modern office complex and related projects at Iperu, Ogun State.
He was briefed by Mr Andy, site architect for the contractor, on the scope of work, progress to date, and the projected completion timeline. The complex is designed to ease the office-space shortage, raise administrative efficiency, and improve the working conditions of officers and men of the Unit.
DC Afeni praised the standard of work so far and directed the contractor to hold that standard, stick to the approved designs, and meet safety requirements and deadlines. He said office allocation to personnel had already begun, so the facility would be put to use shortly.
He also commended the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, and the Nigeria Customs Service management for backing the project. The building, he said, is more than new office space: it is an investment in the productivity, welfare, and professional environment of officers, and should help the Unit discharge its mandate more effectively.
The visit ended with a group photograph of the Acting Comptroller, site managers, and officers of the Unit.
