Adwoa Safo Makes U-Turn, Finally Recognises Brother as Kantanka Family Leader
Former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has publicly recognised her brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, as the leader of the Kantanka family and the Kristo Asafo Church.
In a statement issued on Thursday, October 8, 2026, Adwoa Safo said she had chosen reconciliation and was ready to work with her brother to protect and build on the legacy of their late father, Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo.
βI have immense love and respect for my brother, Israel Kwadwo Safo, and in the spirit of honouring our father’s wishes, I publicly acknowledge and accept him as the Leader of the Kantanka Family and the Kristo Asafo Church,β she said.
βHe has my full support, and I state unequivocally that I am prepared and willing to work together with him in the interest of the family and the Church, in furtherance of our father’s Vision and Legacy,β she stated.
Her decision comes amid disagreements within the family following the death of Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo, particularly over questions surrounding the leadership and succession of the Kristo Asafo Church.
Adwoa Safo said the family should now move beyond previous disagreements and focus on preserving the values, institutions and vision established by their late father.
She acknowledged Israel Kwadwo Safo as the head of the family and the church and pledged her support for his leadership, while expressing her willingness to collaborate with him in advancing their father’s legacy.
According to her, the legacy left by Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo should be regarded as a shared responsibility among his children rather than the possession of a single family member.
She called on the siblings to set aside any misunderstandings or grievances that may have emerged following their father’s death and work collectively to protect what he built.
Adwoa Safo also appealed to members of the Kristo Asafo Church, the wider Kantanka family and individuals associated with Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo’s work to respect the family’s unity as it enters a new phase.
She expressed hope that the latest development would mark the beginning of reconciliation, peace and stronger cooperation among the siblings and members of the wider family.
Adwoa Safo further extended her goodwill to Israel Kwadwo Safo and her other siblings, saying the renewed focus on reconciliation should help promote healing and unity while ensuring that their late father’s vision and achievements continue to influence future generations.
