A Road Rager Fired at a Family’s Car—But He Had No Idea Who Was About to Hunt Him Down

A Road Rager Fired at a Family’s Car—But He Had No Idea Who Was About to Hunt Him Down

But for one family traveling down Golden Gate Boulevard, a reckless driver escalated a simple lane-change dispute into a horrifying shooting and a massive 100 MPH police pursuit.

A recently released viral video from Midwest Safety breaks down the intense dashcam, cell phone, and police bodycam footage of a road rage incident that nearly cost an innocent family their lives. Fortunately, the suspect had no idea how fast local law enforcement was about to shut his crime spree down.

The terrifying ordeal began when a blue Hyundai started driving erratically, swerving in and out of lanes. The victim, driving with his wife, slowed down to avoid a collision and eventually pulled over to let the aggressive driver pass.

Instead of moving on, the suspect dropped back, pulled alongside the family’s vehicle, and escalated the situation to deadly force.

“And as he came up to me, I saw that he had a gun pointed at me,” the victim frantically told emergency dispatchers as he fled the area.

The victim’s wife managed to pull out her phone and record the terrifying moment. In the footage, a bright muzzle flash can be seen erupting from the driver’s side of the Hyundai as a gunshot rings out.

“He pulled up on my left side, and as I looked over, I could see him crouching like this and pointing,” the victim later explained to responding officers.

Armed with a vehicle description and video evidence of the shooting, Collier County Sheriff’s deputies quickly spotted the suspect and initiated a high-stakes pursuit.

The suspect floored the Hyundai, weaving through local traffic and hitting speeds of up to 100 MPH down Golden Gate Boulevard. The chase finally came to a violent end when officers successfully deployed spike strips and executed a precision PIT maneuver, sending the suspect’s vehicle spinning off the pavement with blown tires and a shattered front bumper.

Deputies instantly swarmed the disabled car with weapons drawn and a K-9 unit fully prepared to deploy if the armed suspect resisted.

“You’re going to get up, you’re going to look at your car, do that now… cuz if I’m going to go get you, you’re going to get bit,” the K-9 handler barked as the suspect laid facedown on the grass.

When an officer finally cuffed the shooter and asked him to explain his actions, the suspect’s excuse was bafflingly casual.

“I just had a long day… and I just have a bad issue with the law enforcement, that’s all,” he claimed.

A Convicted Felon’s Stolen Arsenal The suspect was quickly identified as 32-year-old Tyrone Paige. Court records and police updates confirm that Paige was already a convicted Florida felon and had no legal right to possess the weapon—which officers discovered was a Smith & Wesson .45 caliber handgun reported stolen out of Sarasota County.

Paige’s “long day” ultimately caught up with him in the courtroom. He pleaded no contest to four felony charges, including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and fleeing law enforcement. A Florida judge sentenced him to 48 months in state prison, ensuring he won’t be back on the road until at least early 2028.

This dirtbag needed to be sentenced to a lot more than 4 years!
