A 30-year-old SA Woman Died After Allegedly Being Stabbed By Her Teen Foreign Boyfriend

A 30-year-old woman from Mohlakeng, near Randfontein in Gauteng, has died following injuries she allegedly sustained during an attack by her boyfriend in August 2026, according to information provided by her family.

The woman, identified as Lerato Itumeleng, was reportedly attacked on 1 August. She sustained serious injuries during the incident and later died from complications believed to be connected to those injuries.

Following the alleged attack, her boyfriend was arrested and charged in connection with the case. However, he has since been released on bail while the legal process continues. The allegations against him have not been proven in court.

In a particularly painful development for her relatives, Itumeleng marked her 30th birthday on 30 September, almost two months after the reported attack. She has left behind a three-year-old son, her grandmother and two brothers, who are now dealing with the loss.

Her family is seeking justice and has urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. They have also encouraged anyone who may have information relevant to the case to share it with investigators.

The exact circumstances that led to Itumeleng’s death are expected to be established through the ongoing legal proceedings. Her boyfriend remains entitled to due process and is presumed innocent unless proven guilty by a court.

For her relatives, the incident has brought immense grief as they continue to remember a woman whose life ended at the age of 30.

The case has also drawn attention to the continuing concerns surrounding violence against women in South Africa, particularly incidents involving alleged violence by intimate partners or people known to victims.
