2 police officers were arrested, after they allegedly raped a guy they found on the side of the road
Two officers of the South African Police Service (SAPS) have been detained on allegations of rape and assault; they are currently being kept in jail pending their court appearance. The arrests were carried out by members of the SAPS.
A victim was reportedly strolling down Rosedale Street when he was approached and picked up by two police officers who were driving a SAPS service car, as stated by a news story published by Truth Panther. The suspects are accused of physically assaulting the victim, pepper spraying him, and sodomising him with a sharp weapon.
After that, they abandoned him in an unknown region, and it was up to him to make his way back home on his own. After that, he took legal action against the suspects, accusing them of rape and assault, which led to a manhunt and the detention of two officers aged 42 and 41 respectively.
They have been arrested and are being held in custody; they are scheduled to make an appearance in court very soon to face the accusations described above; however, the reasons for the incident are not known at this time.
