Saudi-led coalition intercepts Houthi ballistic missile north of Riyadh
Add ARY News on GoogleFollow on Google Discoverimage: Saudi GazetteAAResizeRIYADH: The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said Wednesday that it had intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis toward an area north of Riyadh.
According to Saudi Gazette, the coalition said it was tracking the missileās launch platform through its intelligence systems over Sanaa and vowed to destroy it.
āWe are tracking the launch platform through the coalitionās intelligence system in the skies over Sanaa, and we will destroy it,ā coalition spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki said.
Earlier, the coalition announced that it had intercepted and destroyed another Houthi ballistic missile launched toward Khamis Mushait.
The coalition said Sanaa, Saada and Amran provinces were the sources of Houthi missile threats. It pledged to continue neutralizing ballistic and surface-to-surface missile threats and destroying their launch sites.
Meanwhile, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held separate phone calls with Egyptian Foreign Minister, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Dr. Badr Abdelatty and Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi.
The Egyptian and Jordanian foreign ministers expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia in confronting Houthi attacks against the Kingdom.
During his call with Abdelatty, Prince Faisal reviewed the longstanding strategic relations between Saudi Arabia and Egypt and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation across various fields.
The Egyptian foreign minister reiterated Egyptās condemnation of attacks targeting Saudi Arabia and affirmed his countryās full support for the Kingdomās security and stability.

The two ministers also discussed regional developments, stressing the importance of protecting maritime routes and freedom of navigation, particularly in the Red Sea and the Bab Al-Mandab Strait.
They reaffirmed their countriesā support for Sudanās unity and sovereignty and the preservation of its national institutions in a way that safeguards the countryās security and stability and meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
During his separate call with Safadi, Prince Faisal discussed Saudi-Jordanian relations and the latest regional developments. The two sides stressed the importance of continued coordination and consultation to strengthen joint efforts aimed at promoting security and stability in the region.
