Mary Millben Calls PM Modi ‘Shining Beacon of the Indian Dream’ on 25 Years in Public Service

African-American singer Mary Millben has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his completion of 25 years in public service, describing him as a “shining beacon of the Indian dream” and calling on Indians to set aside political affiliations and celebrate the country and its leadership.

In a video message marking the milestone, Millben addressed Indians in the country and across the world, praising Modi’s leadership and his years of public service.

“Hello to my beloved India and Indian communities across the world,” Millben said, describing Modi’s 25 years in public life as a “significant achievement” and praising his contribution to the nation.

She said Modi’s political journey had become an inspiration for people across generations.

“You are a shining beacon of the Indian dream, and you inspire us all, young and old, to dream big and believe beyond,” she said.

Millben also praised Modi for seeking to ensure that different sections of society have a voice, thanking him for supporting and empowering soldiers, farmers, women, people of different faiths, senior citizens, young people and children.

She described Modi as a global leader working towards a healthier, more prosperous and equal world.

Acknowledging that India, like every other nation, faces challenges, Millben urged people to put political differences aside on the occasion.

“Let us put aside the BJP and Congress affiliation today and rather unify,” she said.

Millben also praised India’s democratic freedoms and economic opportunities, while highlighting what she described as Modi’s focus on both senior citizens and the country’s youth.

Concluding her message, she offered prayers for the Prime Minister and wished him continued success in expanding opportunity across India.

Modi entered elected government on October 7, 2001, when he was sworn in as Chief Minister of Gujarat. He served as Chief Minister until 2014, when the BJP won the Lok Sabha elections and he became Prime Minister.
