Fuliza M-PESA: How to Qualify, Get a Limit and Use the Service

Fuliza M-PESA is a Safaricom overdraft service that allows M-PESA customers to complete transactions when their account balance is not enough. The service can be used for payments, sending money and buying airtime.

To access Fuliza, you must have an active Safaricom line registered on M-PESA and opt into the service.

Customers registered using a Kenyan National ID, Kenyan passport or Military ID can apply. However, opting in does not automatically guarantee a loan limit. Customers registered with a foreign passport cannot activate Fuliza.

You can opt into Fuliza through your phone by dialling *334#.

Select Loans and Savings, choose Fuliza, then follow the instructions to opt in.

Your Fuliza limit is determined by your Safaricom and M-PESA usage. According to Safaricom, customers generally need to have used the network for at least six months to receive a limit.

New customers who have been on the network for less than six months may receive a zero limit.

Your limit can change over time. Regular use of Safaricom and M-PESA services, together with repaying Fuliza on time, can help improve the amount available to you.

You can use Fuliza repeatedly as long as the required amount remains within your assigned limit. Safaricom may review the limit periodically based on usage and repayment behaviour.
