BREAKING NEWS | Senior ANC politician shot in R56 ambush
Senior KwaZulu-Natal ANC politician and former Richmond mayor Siminkosi Samora Ndlovu was shot multiple times in an apparent ambush on the R56 near Thornville on Tuesday night.
Ndlovu (43) was travelling alone towards Pietermaritzburg in a white BMW when his vehicle was allegedly blocked by another car.
It is understood that one of the occupants of the other vehicle got out and opened fire on Ndlovu’s car, hitting him several times.

Despite his injuries, Ndlovu was taken to Richmond Clinic before being transferred to a hospital in Pietermaritzburg for further treatment.
His condition was not immediately known on Wednesday morning.
Ndlovu is a former mayor of Richmond Municipality and previously served as secretary of the ANC’s regional executive committee. He is currently a member of the ANC regional task team.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting and the motive for the attack were not immediately clear.
Police have yet to comment on the matter.
