Officers swooped on 2550 Olinville Avenue at 3:38 a.m., where they found the two victims on the ground with injuries consistent with a fall from an elevated position, the NYPD told The Post.
Both victims were rushed to Jacobi Hospital in critical condition. The woman has since been pronounced dead.
A witness told cops one of the victims was a baby. They also claimed the infant and woman were thrown from a balcony, WABC reported. Authorities have not confirmed the pair were tossed from the balcony.
The baby, a girl, is believed to be about 5 months old, according to the outlet.
Another witness told WABC that she heard a woman yelling, “please don’t do this!” before seeing something plummet to the ground.
The relationship between the woman and child is unclear.
NYPD officers were seen entering the 18-story apartment complex amid the ongoing investigation.
