“We Are Innocent”: Here Is Why Two Accused Denied Bail Over Reiger Park Killing of Four

Boksburg — The Boksburg Magistrate’s Court has denied bail to two men accused of the killing of four people in Reiger Park on 7 August 2026.

Reagan Cheslin Collis, 23, and Jamal Meyer, 24, who are accused number one and two respectively, will remain in custody following the court’s decision.

The four victims were allegedly killed during the incident, including two anti-gang police officers and two women. The case has drawn attention because of the deaths of the police officers, who were involved in efforts to combat gang-related criminal activity.

Meanwhile, their co-accused, Elvino Levert Crafford, 27, and Mcfoolen Ford, 26, were granted bail of R5 000 each. Their release is subject to conditions imposed by the court.

The contrasting bail decisions mean Collis and Meyer will remain behind bars as the criminal proceedings continue, while Crafford and Ford will await the next stage of the case outside custody.

The accused are facing serious allegations in connection with the Reiger Park killings. The matter is expected to return to court as investigations and legal proceedings continue.

The bail ruling does not amount to a finding of guilt, and all four accused remain entitled to the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in court.
