Today’s Headlines: ‘Tinubu Must Go’ — Sowore Leads Abuja Protest; Saraki’s meeting with APC ‘G15’ chieftain fuels realignment in Kwara
The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore, is currently leading a protest demanding the exit of President Bola Tinubu.
In a video, Sowore was seen in front of the demonstrators chanting ‘Tinubu must go’ across some streets in the nation capital city, Abuja.
The protesters also carried placards with the image of President Tinubu with the inscription, ‘Tinubu must go’.
Recall that Sowore is standing trial before the Federal High Court in Abuja on a two-count charge bordering on alleged cyberstalking and criminal defamation of President Tinubu.
The political realignment ahead of the 2027 elections in Kwara State has assumed a new dimension following a meeting between former Senate President Bukola Saraki and Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki.
Seriki popularly called ‘Amber’ is a prominent member of the aggrieved All Progressives Congress (APC) group known as the G15.
Saraki met Seriki at the headquarters of his Kursi Group in Abuja, where the former Senate President expressed interest in the company’s industrial and mining activities.
Although the meeting was publicly presented around business, its timing has generated political discussions in Kwara, coming amid renewed alignments involving the G15, The Otoge Progressives (TOP), the PDP and the emerging Rainbow Coalition.
