In the latest episode of Isencane Lengane, which aired on Moja Love on Sunday evening, 4 October, Siyacela openly stated his desire to become a polygamist.
In scenes that sparked debate on social media, he said he would use ukuthwala, described as black magic for wealth, to get the money needed to support more than one wife.
Mzansi fell in love with the couple when they tied the knot as teenagers in 2019. Thando was only 15 and Siyacela was 16.
Siyacela said he understood ukuthwala to require serious sacrifices, including killing relatives, but was ready to go through with it.
You can’t run a polygamous household without money. We must do a cash-in-transit heist or let’s go do ukuthwala straight to have money.
“I will make sure that I live a good life. How can you take a second wife when you’re scared to fetch a snake?”
Siyacela said he plans to visit places where ukuthwala is practised to learn what is required.
He said: “I don’t mind doing all those sacrifices because I no longer have a conscience. Life is easy when you don’t have a conscience. It’s difficult when you have a conscience because you get scared.

“I don’t have a conscience anymore. Even if I were to be told to kill my brother, I would do it because I need money.”
Siyacela’s brother, Nqobani Dlamuka, said he was hurt to hear his sibling considering ukuthwala. He added that he believed those who use it have limited years to live.
“I only believe in my ancestors. Even if I don’t have money, I’m fine with that rather than going to ukuthwala,” said Nqobani.
I don’t know where Siyacela got the idea of ukuthwala from because I was told that ukuthwala is not blessed. But I see Siyacela loves it.
The episode has sparked fierce debate on social media, with many viewers expressing shock and concern at Siyacela’s statements.
