Ministry warns citizens, foreign residents against recording, publishing, sharing footage of operations
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has issued an urgent warning to citizens and foreign residents, prohibiting the filming, photographing or sharing of missile and drone interceptions and their impact sites on social media and other digital platforms.
The ministry said violations could expose individuals to legal liability, stressing that national security remains a matter on which there will be no compromise.
The Ministry of Interior said recording videos of the country’s defense systems intercepting missiles or drones in mid-air is prohibited. It also warned against photographing or circulating information and footage related to such military and defense operations.
According to the ministry, sharing images or videos of interceptions or their impact sites on social media can be considered a threat to national security.
The warning applies not only to filming and photography but also to publishing or circulating related content on digital platforms. Authorities urged the public to avoid sharing information about missile and drone interceptions and the locations where they may have struck.
The ministry said individuals who record, publish or distribute such material could face legal action.
The Ministry of Interior spokesperson stressed that strict legal measures would be taken against anyone violating the rules, regardless of whether they are Saudi citizens or foreign residents.
The ministry reiterated that there would be no compromise when it comes to national security and urged everyone to comply with the restrictions.
The warning was issued in multiple languages as part of broader public security guidance, underscoring the authorities’ effort to ensure that both citizens and foreign residents are aware of the restrictions.
