My Own Daughter Made Me Pay For Cement – I Stopped Going To My Own Factory For 3 Years – Ibrahim

That is what Ibrahim Mahama, the Chief Executive Officer of Dzata Cement, learned from his own daughter.

Speaking in a lighthearted mood at an event, Mr. Mahama recounted how his daughter, who is the Managing Director of Dzata Cement, stopped his truck and insisted he must pay before the cement is released.

According to him, he sent his truck to the factory to pick up cement like any other customer. But his daughter said no.

Her rule was simple – no payment, no cement. Even if you are my father.

Ibrahim Mahama said he was shocked. He is the owner of the company. But his daughter, the MD, stood her ground. She told the workers not to release the cement until payment was made.

After that incident, he stopped going to the company for about three years.

He said it jokingly, but his message was clear – his daughter is very strict and professional.

Many people who heard the story have praised the young MD. They say it shows that Dzata Cement is run with discipline. There is no family favour. If even the owner must pay, then every customer must pay.

Dzata Cement is Ghana’s first wholly Ghanaian-owned cement factory. It was founded by Ibrahim Mahama, who is also the CEO of Engineers and Planners.

His daughter, Nafisa Mahama, is now managing the company and she is showing that she means business.
