Mike Brown proudly shows off what has changed for him after Knicks’ NBA Championship run
New York Knicks head coach Mike Brown secured the NBA championship in his first year with the team, and according to his own admission, something has changed since he helped the team win the Larry O’Brien trophy after 53 years.
The Knicks lost 120-97 in their first preseason game against the Philadelphia 76ers. All of their starters were under minute restrictions, and after the first half, it was their bench that played the rest of the game.
After the loss, Mike Brown was asked an interesting question about what has changed for him after becoming a championship coach.
Brown was at the press conference when a reporter asked the question about being a championship coach. The media might have expected a serious response, but the 56-year-old took a different route.
He showed the reporters how the equipment managers of the team had kept a custom travel case for his toiletries this season. Brown revealed that normally he was given these things in a simple bag, but since winning the championship, he now has a luxurious travel case.
Mike Brown was asked about if there’s anything different about being a “championship-level” coachHe then proudly showed off his new custom travel case for his toiletries “This is what championship level coaches get. I guarantee you Nick [Nurse] has this s–t too” pic.twitter.com/vn4nlnBGxR
“This is what championship-level coaches get. I guarantee you Nick [Nurse] has this s*** too,” Brown said, after which he left the podium.
Brown is a two-time coach of the year, and this was his first time winning a championship. While expectations now increase, it is clear, by his own admission, that the treatment towards him has changed after helping the Knicks win the title.
