Man held for allegedly posing as doctor at BBH
Rawalpindi – Waris Khan police have registered a case against a young man for allegedly impersonating a doctor at Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) and attempting to obtain blood from the hospital’s blood bank through improper means.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), registered on October 4 under Sections 171 and 419 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), the suspect was identified as Salih Iftikhar, a resident of Rawalpindi.
The complainant, Raja Muhammad Noman, an evening-shift ward master at BBH, told police that senior laboratory technician Muhammad Ramadan alerted him on the evening of October 3 after spotting a young man dressed in a doctor’s uniform inside the hospital’s blood bank.

The suspect was allegedly attempting to obtain blood without following the prescribed procedure. According to the complaint, he had previously been warned against such conduct.
Hospital security personnel detained the suspect after he was challenged and, according to the FIR, he failed to produce any identification or credentials establishing that he was a medical practitioner.
Police said a mobile phone was also recovered from his possession.
Preliminary inquiries allegedly indicated that the suspect was involved in the unauthorised buying and selling of blood and blood products while posing as a medical professional.

The hospital security staff subsequently handed him over to police at the BBH police post, where a case was registered and further investigation was launched.
