Leavitt, 29, served as President Donald Trumpâs top spokesperson and one of the administrationâs key public faces until she stepped down in late August. She was the youngest White House press secretary in American history.
âKarolineâs firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of todayâs political landscape,â Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said in a statement. âWe look forward to her providing our audience with authentic and sharp insight across all Fox News Media platforms.â
She will start her new role âproviding commentary and analysisâ on Nov. 1, Fox said.
Leavitt, who gave birth to her second child in May, left the Trump administration at the end of August after working as press secretary since the start of the presidentâs second term. She departed the West Wing to âspend more time with her beautiful young children and family,â Trump said in an Aug. 12 social media post.
âKaroline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party, as we work to defy History, and conclusively win the Midterm Elections,â Trump said on his Truth Social platform.
Leavitt was part of Trumpâs inner circle in the White House and during the 2024 presidential race, acting as the campaignâs national press secretary. She was known for her fierce defenses of the presidentâs record and her occasional confrontations with political reporters inside the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room.
Leavitt is not the first former Trump press secretary to go on to work at Fox News.
Kayleigh McEnany, who held the role from April 2020 through the final day of Trumpâs first term, joined Fox in 2021 and now co-hosts the daytime talk show âOutnumberedâ as well as the weekend series âSaturday in America with Kayleigh McEnany.â
