According to a Post by Ghbase on Facebook Official account on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, Veteran Nigerian actor Pete Edochie has shared an unusual experience he once had with a woman who became angry with him after watching his performance in the classic movie Things Fall Apart.

The respected actor made the revelation while speaking at the launch of the Legacy Project in Ghana, where he reflected on how deeply some viewers connected his movie roles with reality.

According to Edochie, the strange incident happened when he entered a taxi and encountered a woman who immediately began directing harsh words and curses at him.

He explained that he initially could not understand why the woman was treating him with such hostility because, as far as he knew, he had never done anything to offend her.

Edochie later realised that the woman had completely believed the character he portrayed in Things Fall Apart was a true reflection of who he was in real life.

The veteran actor said the woman accused him of wrongdoing and even declared that God would punish him for his actions in the movie.

Her reaction became so intense that she eventually asked the taxi driver to pull over. She got out of the vehicle and continued expressing her anger toward the actor.

What made the encounter even more unusual was that it was raining heavily at the time, yet the woman remained outside, allowing the rain to fall on her while she continued cursing him.

Edochie’s story highlights how convincing his acting was, as one viewer became so emotionally invested in his character that she struggled to separate the actor from the role he played on screen.
