Joint-top of England men’s list and behind seven women

Harry Kane will make a record-equalling 125th appearance for England on Tuesday night against Czechia at Wembley, drawing level with Peter Shilton.

Kane, who made his debut in March 2015, has been selected to start his fourth international game in 13 days. It draws the striker level with Shilton as the most-capped England men’s player.

Seven women have made more England appearances, with the list topped by Fara Williams, who played 172 times. Kane has scored an England record 89 goals, including four in this window.

Shilton, the former goalkeeper, made his appearances from 1970 to 1990, his caps reduced by a period when he and Ray Clemence were rotated. Clemence won 61 caps from 1972 to 1983.

Kane will hope to move ahead of Shilton when England play at home to Croatia in their next game, on 12 November.
