Anil Kapoor’s ‘Subedaar’ wins Best Feature Film at the Asian Academy Creative Awards

In addition, Kapoor’s performance in the action drama has earned him a nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
The film, which was directed by Suresh Triveni, has achieved yet another significant milestone. Additionally, Triveni is a nominee for Best Direction in the Feature Film category.
In the movie, Kapoor portrays retired soldier Arjun Maurya. The actor called the nomination a “great time in his career’ and shared the news on social media.
“A very special moment in my journey. Honoured to be nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role for Subedaar at the Asian Academy Creative Awards, representing India. Grateful to the entire team and everyone who has supported the film,” stated Kapoor.
Along with congratulating Triveni, he highlighted their collaborative experience on the film.
Kapoor congratulated the filmmaker, saying, “This one means even more to me because of the journey we shared making it.”
“Subedaar” centers on Arjun Maurya, a retired soldier who finds it difficult to adapt to civilian life after coming home. The movie, which takes place in Madhya Pradesh, examines his attempts to defend his family while battling corruption in his neighborhood.
Arjun’s relationship with his daughter Shyama, portrayed by Radhikka Madan, is equally strained. He uses his military background to address the dangers his family faces as their situation worsens.
Khushbu Sundar, Saurabh Shukla, Aditya Rawal, Mona Singh, and Faisal Malik are present in the movie.
“Subedaar,” which was directed by Triveni, debuted on Amazon Prime Video on March 5.
According to Variety, “Subedaar” was one of the 335 national winners of the Asian Academy Creative Awards, which represented 18 nations and territories in 39 categories.
“The Shadow’s Edge,” starring Jackie Chan, received Best Feature Film for the Chinese Mainland, while “Subedaar” won for India.
The grand winners will be revealed at the awards ceremony in December at Singapore’s Capitol Theater. The national winners will now move on to the international stage.
With 23 victories, Mediacorp topped the business total, followed by Prime Video India and Astro Malaysia, each with 19. CNN won fifteen games.
The Chinese drama “The Lead” won six categories, while “Legend of the Magnate” won Best Drama Series, among other noteworthy winners. “Alice in Borderland” won Best Drama Series, and “Song of the Samurai” won five categories in Japan. Season 3 of India’s “The Family Man” also won four.
Beverley McGarvey, head of the Asian Academy Creative Awards, stated that the honors showcase the richness and variety of storytelling in the Asia-Pacific area.
Industry experts evaluate entries at the national level before the finalists compete in the international portion of the awards’ two-round evaluation procedure.
