Woman Open Up defends alleged sexual assault of Uber driver by three women

According to a report by Ghanaweb on Sunday, October 4, 2026, a woman who says she is one of three women accused of sexually assaulting an Uber driver has defended the group’s conduct, blaming a lack of interest from men and questioning why the driver went public.

She spoke on Kasapa FM, shortly after the driver, identified as Kwame, gave his own account on the same station. She said “We are starving for sex” and men rarely approach her and her friends, which she attributed to their body shapes and social class. According to her, they take whatever opportunity arises. She asked why Kwame was complaining and whether he had not enjoyed the encounter.

The woman insisted the group is not involved in prostitution, saying they sometimes dress up and go out hoping to meet a partner. She also claimed Kwame was not the first man this had happened to, putting the number at about three, and wondered why the other two had stayed silent.

Her account sharply contradicts the driver’s. He told Kasapa FM that the three women booked him for a trip from Kasoa to East Legon Hills and that he agreed to return the next morning to take them back. He said they asked him into the apartment to familiarise himself with the location. He alleged that once inside, one of the women locked the door and took the keys, and that the three overpowered him. He claimed one held down his legs while the others took turns assaulting him.

The driver said he pleaded to be let go but was ignored. He described being so weak afterwards that he dragged himself to his car and slept for about two hours before he could continue.

The allegations remain unproven. The woman’s remarks have not been independently verified as coming from one of the accused, and the report does not say whether a complaint has been lodged with the police.
