Prepare for Morning and Afternoon Rains Tomorrow, Tuesday, If You Live in These Areas – KMD

Several parts of Kenya are expected to receive rainfall on Tuesday, October 6, according to the Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD).

The weather forecast released on Monday evening indicates that Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Tana River, Lamu and Taita Taveta could experience showers in both the morning and afternoon.

Mombasa and Kwale are likely to receive light showers in a few areas during the morning, with similar conditions possible later in the day. Kilifi may also experience occasional light showers.

Tana River could receive morning rain followed by light afternoon showers. Lamu is expected to have light showers in a few areas throughout the day, while Taita Taveta may experience cloudy conditions and light showers during the morning and afternoon.

Rainfall is also expected in Wajir and Mandera. Wajir may start with light morning rain before moderate showers and thunderstorms develop in the afternoon. Mandera could experience morning rain and thunderstorms, followed by heavier showers and thunderstorms later in the day.

Marsabit, Tharaka-Nithi and Embu are expected to receive light to moderate rainfall mainly in the morning before sunny conditions return. In Marsabit, the rainfall is expected mainly around Moyale.

Afternoon showers are likely in Garissa, Meru, Kitui, Machakos, Makueni, Nyandarua, West Pokot, Samburu, Trans Nzoia, Nandi, Baringo, Nakuru, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii and Nyamira.

The affected areas are expected to experience sunny intervals before afternoon showers. Thunderstorms are also possible in parts of western Kenya and the Rift Valley. Kisii, in particular, could receive moderate showers accompanied by thunderstorms.

Nyeri, Kirinyaga and Murang’a may record light rainfall in both the morning and afternoon, while Laikipia is likely to have light morning rain followed by sunny intervals.

For Nairobi, the forecast indicates cloudy conditions with sunny intervals in the morning and a possibility of light showers in a few areas during the afternoon.
