But in public, away from the cameras, the story is completely different.

Polygamist Musa Mseleku’s four wives, Busisiwe (MaCele) Mseleku, Nokukhanya “MaYeni” Mseleku, Mbali “MaNgwabe” Mseleku and Thobile “MaKhumalo” Mseleku appeared happy and united.

They were at a KFC Gateway outlet, outside Durban, where they mingled with fans.

The four wives and their husband had secured a deal to appear in fried chicken franchise’s adverts.

Journalists were restricted from asking questions related to their marital issues.

MaKhumalo, who was laughing loudly throughout the campaign, said the deal united them as sister wives.

“We’re happy to work together, and this deal united us. This campaign surprised us all because it showed that we can do something together as a family,” she said.

She also clarified the phrase “done sharing” that she uses in the advert.

MaKhumalo said she didn’t mean she was done sharing their man, or she was leaving the marriage. It was simply part of the campaign.

“Don’t share the bucket, because it’s only for one person. That’s what I mean,” she said, laughing out loud, supported by MaCele.

In the last season of Uthando Nes’thembu, MaKhumalo and Mseleku were seen arguing, which sparked allegations that she might give up on her marriage.

Fans seemed excited to interact with the wives and take photos signed by Mseleku.
