IHC orders police to provide protection to lady doctor
Add ARY News on GoogleFollow on Google DiscoverFile image/IHCAAResizeISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) issued a written order over a petition of a lady doctor against occupation of her home and seeking protection on Monday.
The high court bench comprises of Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro ordered police to provide protection to Dr. Nuzhat Shakir.
The court directed the I.G. Islamabad, SSP and concerned station house officer (SHO) to ensure security of Dr. Nuzhat Shakir.
The bench also issued notices to parties in the case and summoned their replies.
The IHC bench adjourned the hearing and fixed further hearing of the case on October 13.
Justice Arbab Muhammad of the IHC heard the petition of the wife of Afzal Maseeh, who was missing from the federal capital city and didn’t recover despite the court’s order.
The respondents nominted in the petition, Raja Yasir and Faisal, appeared in the court hearing.
“They have financial dispute with the missing man,” DSP said and requested to the court to allow some time for recovery.
The petitioner’s lawyer also said the police be allowed time until October 07.
The bench granted two more days for recovery on the request of the DSP-Legal and directed police to recover the victim by Friday.
