Highway 36 collision west of New Cambria leaves three hurt
Three people were injured Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 36, four miles west of New Cambria in Macon County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred at approximately 2:16 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4.
According to the patrol, an 86-year-old Marceline man was driving a 2022 Ford Explorer north when he failed to yield to an eastbound 2014 Subaru Outback driven by a 49-year-old Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, woman. The Subaru struck the Ford Explorer in the side.
The Pittsburgh woman was injured and transported by MU 4 to University Hospital in Columbia.
An 83-year-old Marceline woman who was an occupant of the Ford Explorer was injured and transported by Life Flight Eagle to University Hospital in Columbia.
The 86-year-old Marceline man received moderate injuries and was transported by Linn County Ambulance to University Hospital in Columbia.
The patrol reported all three were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
Both the 2022 Ford Explorer and 2014 Subaru Outback sustained total damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Still Towing of Macon.
Corporal Fuller investigated the crash. Sergeant Johnson, the Macon County Sheriff’s Office, New Cambria Fire Department, Macon County Rescue Squad, and Macon County Ambulance assisted at the scene.
