RAWALPINDI: A high-profile domestic violence case involving a senior female government officer has emerged in Rawalpindi, the twin city of Islamabad. Police have arrested Jawad Ali, the husband of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Headquarters Maliha Sehar, over allegations of domestic violence. A court has subsequently sent him to Adiala Jail on a 14-day judicial remand.
Allegations Detailed in FIR The case was registered at the Women Police Station in Rawalpindi on the complaint of Maliha Sehar herself. According to the FIR, the ADC alleged that she had been subjected to physical and severe psychological abuse for several months.

She told police that the alleged abuse intensified on October 2 and 3. According to her account, her husband allegedly assaulted her on the evening of October 2, took away her mobile phone and confined her to a room. She further alleged that she was prevented from contacting her family, meeting her children or seeking police assistance in an emergency.
The officer also alleged that her husband repeatedly threatened to kill her and harm their children, causing her continued psychological distress.
Court Orders Judicial Remand Following the registration of the case, police arrested Jawad Ali. After the initial investigation, he was produced before a judicial magistrate, who ordered that he be sent to Adiala Jail on a 14-day judicial remand.
