Recently, they launched Guided Vision for Gemini Live to help blind and low-vision users. They also added Google Wallet integration, so Gemini can now access details like your boarding passes and event tickets.

Google is also introducing another new feature to the Gemini app for phones.

According to 9to5Google, the new “Map” tool for Gemini is now available on all mobile devices. To use it, tap the “+” icon and scroll right through the options like Photos, Camera, Avatar, Files, Drive, and Notebooks until you find Map.

When the user selects Map, a circle appears on a live map with your current location at the center. You can zoom in or out and search for other locations on the map.

There is also an “Explore this area” option near the bottom of the screen. If you tap it, the “Map Area” will be added to your prompt, so you can use it as a reference point.

This feature can help you get a sense of the neighborhood, check traffic, or find good places to eat nearby. It’s useful if you’re moving or just want to explore a new area.

Google is also planning to replace the forward slash with the “@” symbol. This update was found in version 17.63 of the Google app beta.

If you type the usual forward slash to access your skills and connectors, you’ll see a note that says: “/ is now @. Access your skills, connectors, and more from a single place.”
