Form 4 female student beheaded by axe by boyfriend over love betrayal
Detectives in Nakuru County have launched a manhunt for a man suspected of killing his 18-year-old girlfriend in a horrifying incident that has left residents of Kiambaa area in Molo shocked.
The victim, identified as Joy Wangui, was a Form Four student at Molo Secondary School.
Wangui was reportedly found dead inside her family home on Sunday, October 4, after a relative who had left her alone briefly returned from a nearby shop.
According to preliminary police reports, the relative was confronted by a gruesome scene upon entering the house. Wangui’s body was found lying in a pool of blood inside the kitchen, with investigators later establishing that she had been beheaded.
The shocking discovery immediately prompted the family to alert the police, who rushed to the scene and secured the compound as detectives began collecting evidence.
An axe, a panga and two knives were reportedly recovered near the body. Police said the weapons appeared to have blood stains, raising suspicions that they may have been used during the attack.
In an even more disturbing development, investigators reportedly discovered the victim’s head in a corridor within the house.
Detectives also found a chilling message allegedly written on the wall using blood and a finger. The message read: “I love you, Joy, but never cheat. I am sorry.”
The message has become a key part of the investigation as detectives seek to establish what happened inside the house and what may have triggered the brutal attack.
Police have identified Walter Kipkoech, reportedly Wangui’s boyfriend, as a person of interest in the investigation. He is alleged to have fled the scene shortly after the incident and remains at large.
Investigators are pursuing a possible relationship dispute or love-triangle angle, although the exact motive for the killing has not yet been conclusively established.
Police and other security agencies have intensified efforts to trace Kipkoech, with officers following leads that could help establish his whereabouts and circumstances surrounding Wangui’s death.
The scene was processed by detectives before the teenager’s body was removed and transported to the Molo Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where it is expected to undergo a postmortem examination.
The examination is expected to provide crucial forensic evidence and help investigators establish the precise cause and circumstances of her death.
The killing has sparked concern among residents, particularly because of the brutality involved and the fact that Wangui was a student preparing to complete her secondary education.
As the investigation continues, detectives are expected to rely on forensic evidence, witness accounts and other leads to reconstruct the final moments of the teenager’s life.
Police have appealed for information that could assist in locating the suspect, while efforts to arrest him remain ongoing.
