Another man was gunned down on Monday morning, this time in Scottsdene, just two days after a yet-to-be-identified man was gunned down in Wallacedene on Saturday night.

The latest victim, a 42-year-old man, was found riddled with bullets at a park in Buiten Crescent, Scottsdene, shortly after 6.30am.

Provincial police spokesperson Sergeant Wesley Twigg confirmed that Kraaifontein police opened a murder case following the discovery.

“The victim sustained gunshot wounds to his body and was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation and no arrests have been made.”

On Saturday night, Kraaifontein was rocked by another killing, with a video shared online allegedly showing a person who was shot dead on Boesak Street.

SAPS Warrant Officer Louise Strydom confirmed that a murder case has been opened.

Strydom told the Daily Voice: “I can confirm the incident. No other information is available.”

According to police, the incident happened on 3 October 2026 at around 11.15pm. No details have been released about a suspect, a motive or any arrests.

But for a faith-based anti-crime activist from Delft, the bigger question is not only who is pulling the triggers – it is where they are getting the guns.

The activist, who asked not to be named because of fears for their safety, says residents are seeing shootings so often that it is becoming difficult to believe the situation is improving.

He said: “It seems like we are losing the fight against criminals and gun violence and there is nothing that we can do.

“We have police, metro police, Law Enforcement, the army and many community safety structures on the ground, but it seems like we have more bloodshed than before.

“In the community of Delft and surrounding areas such as Belhar and Wesbank, we have been having daily shootings.

“With all these bodies that are falling, my main concern is where these criminals and gangsters are getting the guns from. Dit lyk almal het ’n gun. If we want to fight crime, we need to get to the root of the problem.”
