Bad News for Sifuna, Matiang’i and Gachagua as Ndindi Changes Tone, Reveals the 6th President

Ndindi Nyoro has outlined an education agenda he says he would pursue if he wins the 2027 presidential election and takes over from President William Ruto. The Kiharu Member of Parliament has made free education a central part of his programme, alongside reforms aimed at improving access and reducing the cost of learning.

Nyoro has said his administration would introduce free secondary education from January 2028. He has also proposed providing meals to learners as part of the plan to support attendance and keep children in school.

According to Nyoro, the free secondary education programme would cover public day secondary schools. He has said the proposal would be financed through contributions from the National Government, counties and NG-CDF resources.

Nyoro has previously presented education as an important area for national development. In Parliament, he has called for greater attention to teachers, learning institutions and education financing. He has also raised concerns about delayed or inadequate capitation, saying schools need timely funding to operate effectively.

His position is also linked to his experience with education programmes in Kiharu. The constituency has supported learners through measures including bursaries and assistance for public day secondary schools. Nyoro has used such initiatives to argue for broader reforms nationally.

The MP has also said a future government under his leadership would focus on healthcare, employment, manufacturing and economic growth. He has urged opposition leaders to work together ahead of the 2027 election.

Nyoro has declared his intention to challenge Ruto in the presidential contest and has said he is prepared to lead Kenya. However, the election has not yet taken place, meaning any claim about who will win remains a future political outcome.

If elected, Nyoro says his education proposals would begin after he assumes office, with free secondary education forming a part of his agenda.
