“Awal No Vex, Bottom Power Too Bi Power” – Shamima Muslim Reacts After Awal Mohammed Finishes Last

According to renowned Ghanaian journalist and Senior Presidential Staffer Shamima Muslim, Awal Mohammed should not be discouraged by his performance in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Nasara Organiser election.

Muslim reacted after the release of the provisional results of the three-way contest, which placed Awal Mohammed in third position with 106 votes.

The provisional figures showed Mohammed Ali Suraj emerging as the leading candidate with 372 votes, while Alhaji Salim Bamba finished second with 311 votes. Awal Mohammed followed with 106 votes.

Following the announcement, Shamima Muslim took to her official Facebook page on Sunday, October 4, 2026, where she shared a brief message directed at the defeated candidate.

She wrote: “Awal no vex, Bottom power too bi power. Nothing spoil.”

The message appeared to be a light-hearted response to Mohammed’s position in the election. Rather than focusing solely on his defeat, Muslim’s comment encouraged him not to be discouraged by finishing at the bottom of the three-candidate race.

The National Nasara Organiser contest formed part of the NPP’s National Officers’ Elections, during which delegates selected individuals to occupy various positions within the party’s national leadership structure.

Awal Mohammed was among three candidates who sought to become the party’s National Nasara Organiser. However, the provisional results showed that he trailed both Suraj and Bamba after the votes were counted.

Muslim’s post has attracted attention because of its humorous wording, particularly her statement, “Bottom power too bi power.” The remark appeared intended to inject some humour into the outcome while reminding Mohammed that an unsuccessful election result does not necessarily bring an end to his political involvement.

Her reaction has added a lighter dimension to conversations surrounding the NPP’s national executive elections, as party members and political observers continue to discuss the performances of the various candidates.

With the provisional figures placing Awal Mohammed third with 106 votes, Mohammed Ali Suraj currently leads the Nasara Organiser contest with 372 votes, followed by Alhaji Salim Bamba with 311 votes. The results form part of the broader changes emerging from the NPP’s national leadership elections.
