5 Gym Accessories That Have Made My Workouts So Much Easier

I used to think the hardest part of going to the gym was actually working out. Turns out, it is everything around the workout, figuring out what to wear, staying comfortable through a sweaty session, making sure my feet aren’t killing me by the end of it, and dealing with the little things that can make you want to skip the gym altogether.

Over time, I have realised that having a few reliable things in my gym bag can make the entire experience feel much less complicated. From clothes that actually keep up with my workout to an easy post-workout drink and something as basic as odour control, these are five things that have genuinely made my gym routine easier, more comfortable and, dare I say, a little more enjoyable.

One thing I have started paying more attention to is what I reach for after a workout. After sweating it out at the gym, I usually want something cold, refreshing and easy to drink, which is where Tribe Kombucha has found a place in my routine.

The Tribe Kombucha Probiotic Super Drink is a naturally fermented drink made with green tea. It has that slightly tangy, fizzy quality that makes it feel much more interesting than reaching for another sugary beverage. It is also packed with live probiotics, organic acids and natural antioxidants, making it an easy addition to my day when I want to be a little more mindful about what I am consuming.

What I particularly like is that it doesn’t feel overly complicated. It is crisp, lightly sweet and refreshing, with flavours including OG Classic, Zesty Gingerade, Hiii-biscus and Bussin Lavender. Depending on my mood, I can go for something more classic or pick a flavour that feels like a little treat.

For me, it has become less about thinking of kombucha as a ‘health drink’ and more about having something I genuinely enjoy reaching for after a workout. The fact that it also fits into my overall wellness routine is a bonus.

There is something about a good gym outfit that can completely change my mood before a workout. I don’t necessarily mean looking perfectly put together, I mean wearing something that I know will stay comfortable once I actually start moving.

My current favourite combination is the Jellybean OnTheGo Baby Tee with the Berry Jam OnTheGo Leggings from Mile Collective. The baby tee comes in bright, mood-lifting shades, which is honestly a small but effective way to make getting ready for the gym feel more fun. More importantly, the fabric is soft, breathable and sweat-wicking, so I don’t spend the entire workout adjusting my clothes.

The leggings are equally practical. They are made with lightweight, breathable four-way stretch fabric that moves with me instead of making me feel restricted. The sweat- and moisture-wicking material is especially useful on days when I am doing a more intense workout. I also like the sculpting silhouette and higher neckline because they offer enough coverage while still making the outfit feel flattering.

The best part? This is not an outfit that only works inside a gym. I can throw on sneakers, grab my bag and head out for coffee or run a few errands without feeling like I am still dressed for a workout. That versatility has made getting dressed for the gym one less decision I have to make.

If there is one piece of gymwear I have become very particular about, it is my sports bra. A cute outfit is great, but when I am doing sprints, circuits or anything involving a lot of movement, I need to know that everything is going to stay exactly where it should.

The Grip Sports Bra from Bird Eye India has become one of those dependable pieces for me. It is designed with high support in mind, with a full-coverage front, wide shoulder straps and a racerback design with a keyhole detail at the back.

What makes the difference for me is the combination of support and coverage. The built-in padding offers some shaping without making the bra feel bulky, while the wider straps help it stay comfortable when I am moving around a lot.

I have also realised that a supportive sports bra can make me more confident during a workout. I am less distracted by constantly checking or adjusting my outfit and can actually focus on what I am doing. Whether it is a cardio-heavy day or a strength session, having a sports bra that I can rely on makes a surprisingly big difference.

Let’s talk about something that isn’t nearly as glamorous as a new workout set but is absolutely necessary, odour control.

After a sweaty workout, the last thing I want is to feel self-conscious about smelling less than fresh, especially if I have plans immediately after the gym. Alum stone has become one of those simple products I keep around because it does the job without making my routine unnecessarily complicated.

I like that it is such a straightforward addition. There is no elaborate process involved, it is simply something I can use as part of my getting-ready routine before heading out. And when I know I have a long day ahead with a workout somewhere in the middle, that little bit of extra freshness makes me feel much more comfortable.

It is also a reminder that making my gym routine easier isn’t always about finding some revolutionary fitness product. Sometimes it is about sorting out the small annoyances that can make working out feel like more of a chore.

This one is probably the most important addition to my routine because it addresses something I have to think about every time I work out, my flat feet.

If you have flat feet, you know that foot discomfort can quickly turn into a much bigger problem during exercise. The Frido Arch Support Soles are designed specifically to provide arch correction for flat feet and help with issues related to overpronation and knock knees over time.

The construction is what makes these different from simply putting a soft insole into my shoes. They feature EVA soft foam for cushioning, along with a rigid composite plastic arch designed to help stabilise foot alignment. There is also an ortho deep heel cup intended to improve ankle positioning and keep the foot better supported.

For me, this is less about adding another fitness accessory and more about making my workouts physically easier to get through. When my feet feel supported, I am much less focused on discomfort and much more focused on the actual exercise.

It is also one of those things I wish I had paid attention to earlier. We spend so much time thinking about workout plans, gym clothes and equipment that it is easy to forget that our feet are literally carrying us through every squat, walk, run and leg day. For someone with flat feet, having proper support can make a noticeable difference to how comfortable a workout feels.

None of these things magically make me want to wake up at 6 AM and sprint to the gym every morning. But they have made the experience more comfortable, which matters.

A refreshing drink waiting for me after a workout, an outfit that doesn’t need constant adjusting, a sports bra that actually provides support, something to stay fresh after sweating it out and proper support for my feet may sound like small details individually. Together, they remove a lot of the little inconveniences that can make exercising feel harder than it needs to be.

For me, making a gym routine sustainable has less to do with forcing myself to be motivated every single day and more to do with making the routine work for me. And sometimes, that means finding the small things that make showing up and getting through the workout, just a little easier.
