Two killed in four-vehicle crash in eastern Kansas
WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Two people were killed in a four-vehicle crash in Franklin County on Friday night.
The crash occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. on northbound U.S. Highway 59, about three miles north of Richmond.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Auriana Davis from Kansas City was driving north in a 2021 Kia Forte when she attempted to pass two vehicles and collided head-on with a southbound 2008 Cadillac DTS.
Both Davis and the Cadillac’s driver, 73-year-old Myron Wolken from Beloit, were pronounced dead at the scene, KHP said.
A 22-year-old passenger in the Cadillac was transported to a hospital with suspected serious injuries.
The drivers of the two vehicles Davis attempted to pass were taken to a Kansas City hospital for treatment.
