According to global transfer expert Ekrem Konur, Atletico Madrid, Napoli, Chelsea and Brighton are closely monitoring the 21-year-old South African attacker.
The reported interest comes just three months after Mofokeng completed his historic move from Orlando Pirates to Union SG on 2 July 2026.
Mofokeng moved to Belgium for a reported record domestic transfer fee of R65.3 million (€3.5 million), signing a four-year contract with an option for another year.
The former Orlando Pirates star has adapted quickly to European football and has become an important creative option for Union SG coach David Hubert.
His competitive debut was particularly memorable. On 31 July, Mofokeng came off the bench against Club Brugge in the Belgian Super Cup final before converting the decisive penalty in the shootout.
He then announced himself in the Belgian Pro League, scoring on his league debut against K.V.C. Westerlo on 8 August. His early numbers have continued to grow, with four goals and one assist across nine appearances in all competitions, according to available statistics.
In the league, Mofokeng has scored three goals and registered one assist. His performances have included a standout display against Royal Antwerp, where he helped dictate the tempo during a 2-0 victory.
His European adventure has also included the UEFA Europa League, where he scored in Union SG’s 3-0 victory over Viktoria Plzeň on 17 September. David Hubert has already acknowledged the competition for places within his squad, but Mofokeng’s performances have strengthened his case.
His club form has now translated onto the international stage with Bafana Bafana.
On 30 September, Mofokeng produced arguably his best performance yet for South Africa, scoring twice in the 5-0 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying victory over Eritrea in Cairo.
He opened the scoring in the 19th minute before producing a brilliant individual effort just before half-time, beating two defenders before finding the back of the net.
The brace represented his first official senior international goals and further underlined why his performances are attracting attention beyond Belgium.
Mofokeng has gone from leaving Orlando Pirates for Belgium to being monitored by Atletico Madrid, Napoli, Chelsea and Brighton within just three months.
The next challenge is maintaining his consistency at Union SG, where he is competing for regular minutes while adapting to a completely different football environment.
